As pressure mounts to protect US allies in Afghanistan, US officials say they have a plan 

The Biden administration is reportedly preparing to evacuate thousands of Afghan interpreters and other local hires who assisted US forces over the past 20 years and now face threats from the Taliban (and other groups who consider them traitors). However, details of the administration’s plans have yet to be announced. Some groups, led by US military veterans and humanitarian organizations, are proposing their own evacuation plans.
