Elite French civil service academy slated to close at year’s end

For years, France’s elite civil service school trained top public officials, including three of the last four presidents. But the majority of students in recent years have come from privileged backgrounds. Rebecca Rosman reports that President Emmanuel Macron has announced the school’s closure, but it’s unclear exactly what will take its place to prepare people for management careers in the public sector.
