An ingredient for life has been created on Mars: breathable air. A toaster-sized instrument on NASA’s Perseverance rover has taken the planet’s carbon dioxide atmosphere and made oxygen with it. The World's Marco Werman speaks to Jeff Sheehy, chief engineer for NASA’s space technology mission directorate, about what this means.
