When you hear MI5, there’s probably only one name that comes to mind: James Bond. The British Security Service wants to put that old cliché to rest. Ken McCallum, MI5 director-general, wants people to see the spy agency for what it really is, so MI5 has joined Instagram @MI5official. MI5 hopes their Instagram posts will attract a more diverse group of operatives — people whose gender, ethnicity, sexuality or disability don’t fall into the James Bond stereotype associated with MI5.
