German court sentences Syrian official to prison 

A German court sentenced a Syrian intelligence officer to over four years in prison for aiding and abetting torture and abuse in Syria. The case marks the first time a Syrian official has been tried for their role in human rights violations. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Mohammad Al Abdallah, the executive director of the Syria Justice and Accountability Center in Washington, DC, for further details on the case.
