In Ireland, so-called mother-and-baby homes were Catholic Church-run institutions where many pregnant, unmarried women were sent during much of the 20th century. Today, a long-awaited investigation into the homes is due, following the discovery of a mass grave of babies and children in western Ireland. The World’s Europe Correspondent Orla Barry reports.
