Mexico’s former defense secretary arrested in US

Mexico’s former defense secretary, Gen. Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda, was detained by US Drug Enforcement Administration agents at Los Angeles Airport on Thursday night in connection with drug-related corruption. This is the first high-ranking military official from Mexico taken into US custody. Zepeda will face drug and money laundering charges, according to news reports.
