In Zimbabwe, more than 100,000 people have been arrested since March for so-called violations of the sanitation and safety measures in place to combat the pandemic. In two days alone, more than 1,000 people were arrested for what Zimbabwean authorities called unnecessary movement and not wearing masks. Host Carol Hills speaks with Dr. Norman Matara of the Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights about the COVID-19 lockdown’s detriment to economic and political stability in Zimbabwe.
