In a typical year, as many as 3 million Muslims from outside Saudi Arabia visit the kingdom during the hajj, a sacred pilgrimage for Muslims around the globe. But because of the pandemic, this year, for the first time in the kingdom’s history, Muslims from outside Saudi Arabia will not be allowed in. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Yasir Qadhi, a Muslim cleric and scholar in Texas who was about to lead a group of Americans on the pilgrimage. He’s a Muslim cleric and dean of the Islamic Seminary of America in Dallas.
