Across India, tens of thousands of people have been protesting the country’s new citizenship law, which critics say discriminates against Muslims. Soumya Shankar with the GroundTruth Project spent time this summer in the state of Assam, where authorities were compiling a registry of citizens that called into question the status of millions of Indians, most of them Muslims. She has the story of one Muslim farmer there.
