Top French executives on trial for causing suicides

A sweeping workplace bullying trial is wrapping up this week in Paris criminal court. France Telecom, which was the national telephone company, wanted to downsize. But the workers had jobs for life because of France’s generous labor laws. So the executives allegedly decided to make the workers lives as miserable as possible so they’d quit. Instead, those workers committed suicide. Host Marco Werman interviews Prof. Sarah Waters at Leeds University in the UK. Her research focuses on work suicides in France.
