For the first time, scientists in Africa have released genetically modified mosquitoes into the wild. It’s part of a controversial, long-term effort to wipe out malaria-carrying mosquitoes by spreading fatal traits into the population. Marco Werman talks with the lead scientist, Dr. Abdoulaye Diabaté.
