Accusations of sexual harassment by more than than a dozen women have prompted an Indian government minister to resign. Much like the US’s #MeToo movement, which began in Hollywood, India’s #MeToo started in Bollywood, with an actress accusing a prominent actor of sexual harassment. In the last week, Indian women have taken to social media in droves to talk about their experiences of sexual harassment, assault and rape. And they’re being heard. Rupa Jha, the BBC’s Head of Indian Languages, tells Marco Werman that she feels as though India is in the middle of a revolution.
