Occupy Princeton: Michael Lewis scores with #ows satire

Michael Lewis has scored again, this time with a great column on a particularly funny slice of the Occupy Wall Street movement. 

Check out this brilliant satire in Bloomberg that Lewis wrote in response to a recent Occupy Princeton event where protesters disrupted a JP Morgan recruiting session. 

As usual with Lewis it's funny, smart and on-the-money. 

Written as a "memo" from the Princeton Strategy Committee, the Lewis piece responds to the "a disturbing new trend: the uprisings by students on elite college campuses."

Here's a quick sample:

"The whole point of going to Princeton for the past several decades has been to get a job at Goldman Sachs or, failing that, JPMorgan. That Princeton students are now identifying their interests with the Lower 99 percenters is, in its way, as ominous as the return of the Jews to Jerusalem."

"Princeton's motto is:
In the nation's service and service of all nations
JP Morgan-Chase, your actions violate our motto
Your predatory lending practices helped crash our economy
We've bailed out your executives' bonuses
You've evicted struggling homeowners while taking their tax money
You support mountaintop removal mining in Appalachia
which destroys our ecological future
In light of these actions,
we protest the campus culture
that whitewashes the crooked dealings of Wall Street
as a prestigious career path.
We are here today
as a voice for the 99%
shut out by a system that punishes them
just for being born without privilege.
What we need is not a university for the 1%,
but a university "In the Nation's Service,
and in the Service of All Nations."
