Two men charged with torturing Carina Saunders and dismembering her body

Grisly details of the torture and murder of Carina Saunders, 19, have emerged following the arrest of two men for first-degree murder.
The dismembered body of Saunders was found in a duffel bag behind a grocery store in Bethany, Oklahoma, in October last year.
Jimmy Massey and Luis Ruiz were arrested on Monday and being held without bond at the Oklahoma County jail.
A witness claims one of the accused beat Saunders, tied her to a table and tortured her by sawing off her left foot and then trying to cut off her right foot before the saw broke, NewsOk reported.
In the affidavit, a woman named Michelle Hanshaw told police she went to a house on S Harvey Avenue in Oklahoma City with Saunders and witnessed Ruiz “physically beat Carina Saunders and then tie her up."
The account claimed that Saunders was dragged by Ruiz to an upstairs room where she was tied to a small table with rope and twine before he used the saw on her feet, Hanshaw told Bethany police investigators.
According to NewsOk, Massey, while jailed on drug charges, shared details of the slaying with two detainees. He told the first detainee that he participated in the homicide and said “they cut the girl’s arms and legs off,” the lieutenant wrote in the affidavit.
ABC News reported that Bethany Police Chief Phil Cole has said Saunders' killing was tied to human trafficking, prostitution and a drug ring.
