New Pussy Riot song: ‘Putin Lights Up the Fires’

The punk protestors released a new anti-Putin single today via the Guardian.

The newspaper edited the song to Pussy Riot's Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior performance, courtroom pictures and worldwide demonstrations of solidarity.

The montage ends with a picture of two Pussy Riot members looking out of their courtroom cage. It's an appropriate ending now that the three women have been sentenced to 2 years in prison for hooliganism motivated by religious hate.

However, this is not the end of Pussy Riot. As a spokesperson said, their "creative team" is made of 20 all-girl activists. Perhaps more "punk prayers" and protest songs are in the works.
