Singing spirituals at the White House

The World

This song, ?Lord, I Done Done What You Told Me To Do? echoed through the halls of the White House on Wednesday night.

The song was performed by the Howard University Choir, as part of a White House music series called, ?A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Era.? The musical event included many artists, including Jennifer Hudson, Bob Dylan, John Legend and the Howard University Choir, among others. It will be broadcast on most PBS stations at 8:00 PM EST tonight.

We’re joined by Howard University choir director Dr. James Weldon Norris and his grandson Brandon D. Strong, who performed.
