Canada’s Largest Islands

The World

Canada is one of the several nations maneuvering to assert its claim on the Arctic and is planning to put on a military show of force, including warships, fighter planes and ground troops, in an exercise called “Operation Nanook.” This exercise, which will take place next month, will take place on two Canadian Arctic islands and for the Geo Quiz we want you to name these islands. They are Canada’s 1st and 3rd largest islands. Both are part of the territory of Nunavut and lie north of the Hudson Strait.

Operation Nanook will be staged on Ellesmere Island and Baffin Island, part of the territory in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
