Tom Cruise appears on the red carpet for first time since divorce from Katie Holmes (VIDEO)

Tom Cruise has walked the red carpet for the first time since his divorce from Katie Holmes, at the world premiere of his movie "Jack Reacher" in London.

And according People magazine, Cruise may have custody of his daughter with Holmes, Suri, 6, for the Christmas holidays as well.

The actor, a prominent Scientologist — which is believed to be the reason for his marriage failing — said that he is looking forward to spending Christmas with his children after wrapping up filming his latest project, "All You Need is Kill," in the UK.

Cruise has two adoptive children — Connor, 17, and Bella, 20 — with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. 

The Daily Mail write, meantime, that Suri had flown to London in November to join her father for Thanksgiving, while Holmes spent the holiday with her parents in Ohio.

Cruise and Holmes split after five years on marriage, which began after a whirlwind romance and a "fairytale wedding" in Italy, People wrote. 

While Cruise has been keeping a low profile since the divorce, Holmes has been performing on Broadway nightly in Dead Accounts.
