Lowell Turpin attacks girlfriend for thinking she is having an affair with Mitt Romney

GlobalPost

Lowell Turpin is charged with assaulting his girlfriend after believing she was having an ongoing affair with the presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

According to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun, the Tennessee man confronted his girlfriend Crystal Gray about the affair after spotting a photo of an unknown man on her Facebook page. It was then that Lowell, “angrily demanded to know who the male was,” according to Anderson County Sheriff’s Department investigators. Gray replied that it was Mitt Romney.

Turpin allegedly flew into a rage at Gray's attempt to communicate with friends through her Facebook account. KnoxNews.com reported that Turpin jerked her laptop computer from her grasp, smashed the machine into a wall, and then hit her in the face with his fist.

Turpin was arrested and booked on domestic assault charges. He remains in the Anderson County Jail. Gray told investigators that this is not the first time that Turpin has hit her.

Perhaps someone should also give Turpin a newspaper.
