Perry: I may run again in 2016

He appeared drunk during a speech. He failed to count to three federal agencies. And he abandoned his campaign last month even less popular in his own deeply Republican state than a sitting Democratic president.

A good start?

Texas Governor Rick Perry seems to thinks so. ABC News reports today that Perry wants to run again in 2016.

"I tell people it was by far the most exhilarating thing that I've ever done," CNN quoted Perry as telling ABC News. "In a perfect world we would have started a lot earlier."

He may “absolutely” run again, he said.

Perry was quoted as saying debates, during which his performances were widely mocked, "have absolutely nothing to do with governing." Asked if they were good practice for 2016, he said: "Ya, could be."

According to Fox News, Perry may have difficulty getting reelected as governor two years from now, let alone winning the presidency in 2016. More than half of Texans say they don’t want Perry, the longest-serving governor Texas history, to run for a fourth term.
