Only 36 percent of those who took the poll knew — and interestingly, they also favored the US finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict between the US and the secretive nation. Now, with many Chinese feeling that a moral and ethical center is missing from their increasingly materially comfortable lives, a growing number are seeking meaning in religion and spiritual practice.
