#45. @realDonaldTrump What benefits do you hope to see as you decrease government regulations? #100Days100Qs

During the recent Conservative Political Action Committee conference in suburban Washington, DC, White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon laid out some principles guiding the administration’s work. One principle, he said, was deconstructing "the administrative state."

“The third, broadly, line of work is deconstruction of the administrative state. … If you look at these cabinet appointees, they were selected for a reason and that is the deconstruction. The way the progressive left runs, is if they can’t get it passed, they’re just going to put in some sort of regulation in an agency. That’s all going to be deconstructed and I think that that’s why this regulatory thing is so important.”

Republican lawmakers have long warned of regulatory over-reach — especially when makes it harder for industries to turn a profit. Some of these lawmakers have rallied against the Environmental Protection Agency’s policies because they claim jobs are being lost in places like West Virginia where Trump promised to bring back coal industry jobs.

Other regulations have been eliminated through a process known as Congressional Review.

So, Mr. President, we're wondering what you hope you will see from all of these regulatory moves. If you're curious as well, tweet this question to the president.
