In many parts of the world, a culture of shame exists around the topic of menstruation, leaving many girls unclear about the connection between menstruation and reproduction. People who educate women and girls about their bodies may also face the challenge of debunking menstrual taboos that have existed in cultures for centuries. Here's a look at some of the taboos sex educators have encountered.
