Seeing The News: Sometimes it seems that we're more willing to share a beautiful moment with our friends on social media as opposed to just living the moment. Then again, this is a really great photo. I'm sure there's a German word for this conflicted emotion. I'll leave that to Ben Schott.

Here's one more to add to the mix and confuse things further.

One place you might want to take a selfie is along the beautiful beaches of Libya. Except, of course, there's that small problem of extremists and weapons traffickers.

Daily drills for recruits

In another sea-side destination, Ukranian military recruits are on high alert. Pro-Russian rebels control the territory to the north and east of the strategic port city of Mariupol on the Sea of Azov. And, Russia holds the Crimean Peninsula to the southwest. Tensions are high in the city and shelling drills for recruits are taking place every day.

Brazilian eyes on Mexico

One Instagram feed that has been great to keep tabs on this week has been Lens Culture. The reason? Photographer Adriana Zehbrauskas has taken over the account. Originally from Brazil, Zehbrauskas is now based in Mexico City and has been posting iPhone pictures of her adopted home. Zahbrauskas says she know's she'll always be a foreigner, but photographing Mexico City is her way to "claim it mine."

Brazil's homeless

One of Zehbrauskas' compatriots has been spending time recently with some of Brazil's homeless. Eraldo Peres published a great photo essay featuring some of the 3,000 people from Brazil’s Homeless Workers Movement. The group has taken up residence on tracts of land near Brasilia.
