Women have always worked hard in South Africa. But the post-apartheid dream of affirmative action for better-paying fields has been hard to realize.

Huge wage disparities still trouble the country — wage disparities among races and between the sexes. A recent survey shows women struggling across the board to earn wages equal to men. Here's how it looks in graph form:

 

According to government statistics, white men earn nearly four times as much per hour as black women in South Africa.
