Awesome nursing home residents in Germany reenact famous movie scenes

The best thing about a classic movie is that it never gets old. Even when its stars do.

German nursing home residents put that truism to the test in towns across Germany — including Essen and Mülheim.

Select senior citizens photographed themselves recreating famous movie scenes from such films as "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Titanic" and "Blues Brothers." Above is Marianne Brunsbach, 86, as Holly Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Here are some other awesome examples:

Irmgard Alt, 79, and Siegfreid Gallasch, 87, are definitely "Stayin' Alive" in "Saturday Night Fever"

They put the photos together in a calendar called "Classics 2014." A pun.

John Liedtke, 92, played Patrick Swayze in the famous lake scene from "Dirty Dancing" where he hoists Baby over his head.

"I am not quite strong enough to lift a lady over my head anymore," Liedtke told media. "Back when I was young, it would have been easy. Nowadays I need the computer tricks to do it."

The oldest photographed resident was Walter Loeser, who appears below in a scene from the 1969 film "Easy Rider."

In a cruel plot twist, the calendar isn't for sale. The old folks just wanted to give it as gifts to nursing home staff and their families.

But here are the remaining shots for your viewing pleasure:
