Fined for a license plate on his backpack

NAPLES, Italy - An Italian family received an unexpected fine in the mail recently after police cameras caught sight of an old license plate strapped to the backpack of a young man.

The boy was walking through the center of Genoa when sensors spotted the license plate he'd attached to his backpack... for decoration we guess.

The plate was from his mother's old scooter, which she had given up in 2007.

Genoa sent the family a fine for driving with an expired registration and driving in a pedestrian zone.

The family has appealed the fine and we hope has given up wearing license plates as fashion.
