Beatles guitar could sell for $300,000 at NY auction (VIDEO)

John Lennon's custom-made guitar, also played by George Harrison, could sell for as much as $300,000 at a New York auction this weekend, according to the Associated Press.

The guitar is part of a collection of classic rock memorabilia to be auctioned at Hard Rock Cafe on May 18. But the guitar is really stealing the limelight here. As Martin Nolan of Julien’s Auctions told the International Business Times

"So the Vox guitar that we're selling in this auction was made especially for John Lennon by Vox guitar back in 1966. And of course, Vox is very well known for its amplifiers. And Beatles players always used Vox sound equipment but then Vox tried to get in making guitars. So it's sort of rare that there is a Vox guitar. And it's a beautiful guitar custom made for John Lennon – very futuristic in how it was designed and the technology that was attached to it."
