Chrysler recalls Jeep SUVs

Chrysler announced Saturday it is recalling 469,000 Jeep SUVs worldwide.
It follows 26 crashes and two injuries involving its Grand Cherokee and Commander models, AP reported.
The recall affects 2005 to 2010 Grand Cherokees and Commanders manufactured in 2006 to 2010.
The car manufacturer said the recall was required to update software after some vehicles' circuit boards were found to be transmitting signals that trigger the gears to shift inadvertently to neutral, Reuters reported.
Chrysler will notify owners of the recall and dealers will update the computer software.
The recall covers 295,000 vehicles in the US, more than 4000 in Mexico and 28,500 in Canada, with the remaining 141,000 outside North America, WVNSTV reported.
It follows a recall in November of more than 900,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty SUVs to fix a part that could cause airbags to deploy inadvertently.
