Chinese news anchor covers earthquake in wedding dress (VIDEO)

Chinese news anchor Chen Ying reports on the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that hit Sichuan province in her wedding dress.

Chinese news anchor Chen Ying was set to get married when a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit China, forcing her into reporter mode as she interviewed locals in her wedding dress.

Some reports said the bride's nuptials were already in progress when the quake hit, while others said she was still getting her makeup done when she grabbed a mic and rushed out onto the street in her full bridal finery — white beaded wedding dress, headpiece, veil and a corsage on her left wrist — but one thing could not be contested: her dedication to the job.

Footage of her interviewing shocked residents of Sichuan province hit YouTube and numerous other video sites.

The earthquake left at least 180 people dead and more than 11,000 injured.

It triggered landslides and disrupted phone and power connections in Lushan country, five years after another earthquake caused widespread damage across the region.

Longmen was hit particularly hard. Authorities said nearly all the village's buildings had been destroyed in a minute-long shaking by the earthquake.
