Tiger Woods regains No. 1 ranking after win

Tiger Woods is No. 1 in golf again for the first time since 2010 after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.
Woods collected his 77th career PGA Tour win and third in five starts this season with today's victory.

He shot a final round of two-under 70 that left him two shots over runner-up Justin Rose, according to Reuters.
Woods has spent a record 623 weeks at No. 1 since he entered the pros. The 29-month-long drought was the longest of his career, according to USA Today.
The golf protege fell as low as No. 58 in world rankings after a cheating scandal rocked his personal life and following injuries to his left leg.

Returning to No. 1 is a "byproduct of hard work, patience, and getting back to winning golf tournaments," Woods said following his victory.
Next up is the Masters, where Woods will try to end a five-year-old drought in the majors.
