Texas girl, 11, repeatedly raped by adult cousin Deandre Devon Davis-Williams gives birth

An 11-year-old Texas girl repeatedly raped by her adult cousin has reportedly given birth.

The cousin, Deandre Devon Davis-Williams, 21, has been charged with the repeated sexual assault of a child and is being held at the Harris County Jail.

According to a criminal complaint, the girl told police that Davis-Williams had been visiting her apartment through a back door while her mother was at work at two jobs.

The rapes allegedly occurred over the course of a year, with teachers at the girl's school only becoming suspicious when the girl was seven months along, the New York Daily News reported.

That's when the mother was informed.

Sara Marie Kinney, from the Harris County District Attorney's Office, told KTRK-TV in an interview:

"It's definitely one of the more heinous crimes we've seen. It was about a year that this abuse was occurring continuously, very often. This case will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Kinney told the Houston Chronicle that there were reasons why the mother would not have expected her daughter to be pregnant:

"It's not a normal pregnancy because it's an 11-year-old with an underdeveloped body. Not only that, but if you have a kid and she's gaining weight or she doesn't feel good, she's 11, so you don't even go there in your mind."

Davis-Williams has not yet been arraigned or entered a plea, however a Houston judge has raised his bond from $50,000 to $150,000, ABC News reported.

The child's sex has not been revealed but it is said to be healthy.

Investigators say the sexual abuse occurred over the course of a year when the accused man, Deandre Devon Davis-Williams, would sneak into the girl's Houston apartment and rape her while her mother was away at work.
