Andy Samberg and musician Joanna Newsom are engaged

Funnyman Andy Samberg and his musician girlfriend Joanna Newsom are getting married.

The former Saturday Night Live star announced the engagement through his a representative on Monday.

"I can confirm that Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom are engaged," Samberg's publicist, Carrie Byalick, told Reuters.

The pair have been dating for five years.

According to ABC, Newsom was spotted wearing a sparkling engagement ring at Saturday’s Independent Spirit Awards, which Samberg hosted.

Samberg, 34, told friends he was smitten with the 31-year-old singer songwriter before they met, reports Us Weekly.

"He liked her music and would go to her shows," a friend of told Us last year. "He had the biggest crush on her."

Newsom is also a harpist and has released three albums, including 2010's "Have One On Me".

It's a good thing she reportedly isn't turned off by some of Samberg's… um… particular musical tastes.

"She respects what he does with his songs," a friend told Us Weekly, referring to Samberg's quirky tracks ("I'm on a Boat!") with comedy troupe Lonely Island.

"She's so proud of everything that he has accomplished."

We wonder what she thinks of the gem, "Jizz in my Pants".
