Amanda Knox to give first interview to Diane Sawyer

ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer has landed the first interview with Amanda Knox, the American exchange student who spent four years in an Italian prison over the slaying of her British roommate in 2007, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.
It will be the first time Knox, of Seattle, has granted an interview to the media since she was freed from jail in October 2011 after her conviction was overturned on appeal, TV Guide reported.

Mediabistro said the interview would air on April 30, the same day Knox’s memoir is due to be released.
She will not be paid for the interview.
In 2009, Knox and her then Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty of killing and sexually assaulting Meredith Kercher in the flat they shared in Perugia.
Knox and Sollecito were sentenced to 26 and 25 years in prison respectively.
An Ivorian drifter named Rudy Guede — who admitted having sexual relations with Kercher but denied killing her — was convicted separately of her murder.
The Hollywood Reporter said ABC News beat out NBC News and CBS News for the highly sought-after interview.
