Sandy Hook shooting: Adam Lanza considered joining Marines, military: report

Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza once considered joining Marines or another branch of the military, the New York Post reported.
The gunman's mother, Nancy Lanza, reportedly told him a military career 'wasn't right for him,' friend Ellen Adriani told the Connecticut Post.

Nancy Lanza told Adriani her son couldn't handle the armed forces, the Connecticut Post said.
The 20-year-old killed his mother last Friday before entering Sandy Hook Elementary School where he shot and killed 26 people before shooting himself in the head.
Adriani, who was a friend of the mother, never actually met Adam Lanza, the Post wrote.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times reported "Nancy Lanza's influence on her son was apparent" even to the woman who cut his hair.
“He would just sit there and not speak. And I’ll tell you the honest truth, as a mother, I just thought the child couldn’t speak. I never gave it a second thought. I thought he couldn’t speak,” Newtown salon owner Diane Skuba told the LA Times.
Skuba said the Lanzas went to the salon for three years and the boy never spoke and only followed directions from this mother.
