Ikea monkey memes: Darwin the macaque becomes an Internet sensation

The discovery of a monkey dressed in a minature shearling coat in an Ikea store in Toronto has quickly made the animal an Internet sensation. 

Since news of the diminutive primate's world debut in the store's parking lot, "Ikea monkey" memes have been popping up all over the web in the form of new slogans for the Swedish furniture store and photoshopped pictures of the sharply dressed monkey.

The macaque, named Darwin, was apparently an illegal pet who had gotten loose from his cage inside a parked car and sauntered into the store on his own. He was taken away by Toronto Animal Services, who are finding him a home at Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary in Sunderland, Canada, the Toronto Star reported.
