It takes a lot to get the locals excited in Longreach, judging by the reaction to a visit by Charles, Prince of Wales, and wife Camilla.

BrisbaneTimes.com.au had the outback town letting out a collective yawn. Taxi driver Tom Tanks reportedly said:

"Am I excited? No. It's going to be a circus, they reckon they are bringing three 747s (planes) on Monday. How they will fit is beyond me."

Luke Nayman said:

"Unless they are bringing in special bullet proof BMWs or something to drive around in. I would notice that, but otherwise it's just another Monday. Maybe I would be excited if Harry was flying in."

The "other" royal couple are in Australia as part of their two-week tour of the Pacific.

ABC News reported that Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall looked relaxed, with Camilla carrying a parasol in the near-104-degree heat.

They mixed with the locals before attending an invitation-only barbecue served Queensland shrimp, lamb, and local wine and beer.

The prince quipped:

"I'm so jetlagged that I feel a few sausages short of a barbie."

The couple visited Papua New Guinea before landing in Longreach and would visit several Australian cities over six days before flying to fellow Commonwealth country, New Zealand, according to the Associated Press.

Their visit to Longreach, in the northeastern state of Queensland, comes three weeks after Charles' son, Prince William, and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, touched down in Brisbane.

The more popular of the two royal couples spent just two hours in the Queensland capital, but easily generated more publicity, with the Fairfax media citing a Brisbane airport spokeswoman as saying it was a "very special moment."
