2 more mysterious Michigan highway sniper shootings

Two more mysterious shootings occurred on Michigan's highway I-96 Saturday.  Officials believe they are connected to 22 other shootings that happened over a three-day period earlier this month, reports Salon.com.

Police said that they expected there to be more shootings after the gunman was never found.

“You don’t have 22 incidents and then have it all of a sudden stop,” said Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte.

One man was hit in the buttocks on his way to the World Series. It was the first injury in the shootings, which police believe came from a man firing a handgun while driving, reports the Detroit Free Press. 

Local TV station WXYZ said the wounded man drove to a service station after the shooting but refused help from station employees, saying he wanted to continue on to the World Series in Detroit.

The Detroit Tigers played the San Francisco Giants in game 3 of the series. 

Eventually, he was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene and taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Livingston where he was listed in stable condition.

Police believe that the previous shootings, which took place between Ann Arbor and Detroit on October 16-18, were the work of a single roadside sniper. 

According to the New York Daily News, the gunman is believed to be a man in his 30s and may be driving a dark 1998 Toyota Camry or a 1998 Oldsmobile Alero.
