International Cycling Union Revokes Lance Armstrong’s Seven Tour Wins

The Takeaway

The International Cycling Union (known as UCI for Union Cycliste Internationale) announced this morning that it will strip Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France wins.  The United States Anti Doping Agency has already banned Armstrong for life and has called for Armstrong’s name to removed from the record books.
The doping scandal has already lost Armstrong the support of Nike and Anheuser-Busch. It  has also resulted in Armstrong’s resignation as the chairman of the Livestrong cancer charity he founded.

Paul Willerton is  a former teammate of Armstrong’s and the organizer of a protest in Oregon held outside the Nike headquarters in response to their support of the disgraced athlete.
