As the case of Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old education and gender activist shot and wounded last week by the Taliban in Pakistan, focuses the world's attention on the issue of global women's rights, a group of women and men have been flocking to Facebook to make their voices heard.

On the Facebook page "The uprising of women in the Arab world," more than 600 people have uploaded pictures of themselves finishing the sentence: "I am with the uprisings of women in the Arab world because…"

Organizers say the campaign was launched because it's "[t]ime for women and men to unite against the oppression of women in the Arab world. To say no to violence against women, no to their allegiance to men, no to repression and abuse, no to their treatment as second class citizens."
