Knott’s Berry Farm ride leaves thrill seekers stranded 300 feet up on WindSeeker (VIDEO)

Thrill seekers at Knott's Berry Farm in California were stranded hundreds of feet in the air for more than three hours on Wednesday night.

The Knott's Berry Farm WindSeeker ride stopped working around 4 p.m., according to the LA Times, suspending 20 riders about 300 feet in the air.

it was the second time this month that the ride — designed to give "the feeling of free flight" — has malfunctioned, the Times cited a spokeswoman for the park, Jennifer Blazey, as saying.

Jimmy and Donna Garrison of Maryland told KCAL9 that they got on the WindSeeker to help Donna get over her fear of heights. She said:

"When it stopped, I had a real hard time."

WindSeeker, which opened to the public Aug. 24, swings riders for 60-seconds at a 45 degree angle at a speed of eight rotations per minute, ABC News reported, citing Knott's website.

ABC cites Knott's as saying in a statement.

"Each of our rides is inspected, check-listed and properly maintained daily. Knott's will continue to consistently monitor and inspect the rides and operation thereof."
