Bill Cosby: Victim of another death hoax on social media

Bill Cosby has been the victim of a death hoax on social media – again.

The comedian has been a trending topic on microblogs and search engines this week after another “R.I.P Bill Cosby” site appeared on Facebook, triggering rumors he had passed away.

It was the second time this month that the 75-year-old entertainer was wrongly declared dead via social media, E! Online reported Tuesday.

Cosby has not responded to the latest rumors of his death, but he did post a photo of himself on his verified Twitter account on Tuesday.

A long list of celebrities have been killed off by Twitter and other social networking sites.

Cosby told CNN in 2010 that he had been the victim of four death hoaxes and asked the people responsible to cut it out.

Other celebrities to “die” this week include Eddie Murphy (snowboard accident on Tuesday), Rihanna (heart attack on Monday) and TV scientist Bill Nye (died over the weekend), USA Today reported.
