Randy Travis cited in church parking lot fight

The life of singer Randy Travis is sounding more and more like some of his country songs.

Just weeks after a DUI arrest, Travis was cited for assault Thursday in a fight outside a church in a Dallas suburb after becoming involved in an argument between a woman and her estranged husband, Reuters reported.

TMZ reported that Travis was "extremely intoxicated" and appeared to be the "primary aggressor," but police disputed those reports.

The incident occurred Thursday night outside the Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.

No one was arrested, and only Travis was cited, police told CNN.

Travis' attorney, Larry Friedman, told TMZ the woman in the argument is Travis' fiancee and that he "came to the rescue."

The latest incident comes less than two weeks after the country singer was arrested after being found naked, drunk and passed out in the middle of a street, with his 1998 Trans Am in a nearby ditch, according to Fox News.

In February, he was cited for public intoxication after police found him drunk in his car in another church parking lot.
