Prince Harry isn’t the only misbehaving royal

GlobalPost

Prince Harry's naked Vegas photos have taken the Internet by storm, but the loveable British badboy is hardly the only member of the royal family to get into trouble.

Here, some other incidents that probably had the Queen Mother at least a little bit mortified.

1. Sarah Ferguson takes bribes, bathes topless

The Duchess of York, also known as "Fergie," has had her fair share of embarrassing moments. Ferguson was married to Prince Andrew, but the couple agreed to separate in January of 1992 after six years of marriage.

Fergie wasted no time making headlines. In August 1992, just seven months after their separation, the Duchess was photographed sunbathing topless with her former financial adviser, John Bryan, who seemed to be sucking on her toes, as the Telegraph reported.

The real truth came out in 2011, when Ferguson's current financial advisor told the Independent that Bryan was, as a matter of fact, licking the Duchess' instep.

"He was pretending to try the slipper on my foot and I was Cinderella…and I said, 'Oh, ha, ha, it doesn't fit because you are not the prince,' " Fergie added to the explanation.

Ahhh, we see.

However, things got worse for Ferguson before they got better: in 2010, she was caught on tape offering an undercover News of the World reporter access to her former husband for almost $700,000, ABC News reported

Talk about embarrassing.

2. Diana's affairs…

Prince Harry's parents are no angels themselves. Both his mother, the late Princess Diana, and his father, Prince Charles, were caught having affairs while they were still married.

Diana, who earned the nickname "the People's Princess" for being one of the most down-to-earth royals, reportedly had at least five affairs, including one with her polo-playing friend James Hewitt which she admitted to in 1995.

Her other suitors included PR executive James Gilbey, art dealer Oliver Hoare, England rugby captain Will Carling, and her bodyguard Barry Mannakee, according to the Daily Mail.

3. …and Charles' tampongate

Charles, meanwhile, was carrying on an affair with his now-wife Camilla Parker Bowles.

Their long-running secret relationship came to light in 1992 after a series of their recorded phone conversations surfaced, including one that came to be known as "tampongate," in which the Prince expressed a desire to be Camilla's…well…tampax, according to the Guardian

Maybe Harry comes by the awkward behavior honestly, then?

4. Prince Philip II's international commentary

Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, is known for blurting out, how shall we say it, flippant remarks. One of his finest moments came during a meeting with Alfredo Stroessner, Paraguay's dictator.

"It's a pleasant change to be in a country that isn't ruled by its people," the Prince told Stroessner

Another shocking Philip comment came during a visit by the royal couple to China in 1986. While chatting with a British student, he came out with this gem: “If you stay here much longer, you will go home with slitty eyes," the New York Times reported.

The best part? The Prince stood by his words, saying that “the Chinese weren’t worried about it, so why should anyone else?”

5. Zara Phillips's father calls her "a brat"

Captain Mark Phillips was married to Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter, from 1973 until 1992. His children, Zara and Peter Philips, are the first royals to eschew royal titles, which almost merits its own scandal paragraph altogether.

However, Capt. Philips doesn't seem too enamored with his low-key daughter. While he described Peter as an easy-going child in a 2012 interview, Zara was reportedly another story, the Telegraph reported

“He (Peter) was a very well-behaved little boy; he wasn’t much trouble at all. He knew where the line was and he didn’t cross it," said Mark. “Zara, on the other hand, who came along four years later, was much more difficult, much more of a brat. I don’t think she accepted that line at all."

It seems even non-royal royals get into trouble sometimes.

6. Pippa's gun incident

Duchess of Cambridge's sister, Pippa Middleton, got into a tight spot in April 2012 when she was photographed in the seat of the convertible next to a man pointing a gun at a paparazzi, looking very much amused.

The scandal prompted speculation that the 27 year old could face time in prison due to France's strict laws about threatening someone with a weapon, real or fake, the Telegraph reported

Here's an analogy to toss around: Pippa is to Kate as Harry is to William. Think about it.
