To some, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is the advocate of transparency. To others, he's a criminal trying to escape justice.

For two months, Assange has lived at the Ecuadorean embassy in London, seeking asylum and avoiding extradition to Sweden and possibly the United States. Today, Ecuador offered him that asylum.

GlobalPost takes a look at Assange, from the height of WikiLeaks through his trial in London and up to his asylum offer.
