Crocs co-founder caught driving drunk, blames it on Taylor Swift

What's more uncool than blaming your girlfriend for your own screw-ups? Blaming your imaginary girlfriend. Yet the co-founder of Crocs, a company known for making shoes that are comfortable but also very ugly, appears to have done just that.

George Boedecker, one of the Crocs Inc. original founders, was found passed out behind the wheel of his Porsche, The Daily Camera reported. The engine of the car was still running, and the 51-year old Boedecker smelled like booze. Despite the suspicious circumstances, Boedecker insisted to police that he was taking a nap (a favorite excuse of drunk people). He also said that his girlfriend was one who was driving the car.

The lucky lady? Taylor Swift, the 22-year-old country star. Boedecker said his girlfriend was “a really fucking famous” singer and asked Officer Patrick Vest if he “knew who Taylor Swift was," The Smoking Gun reported. Swift has a wholesome reputation, but not according to Boedecker, who added that she is actually "batshit crazy." It perhaps goes without saying that police could not find a second person at the scene.

Boedecker was arrested and faces a charge of driving under the influence. He is currently free on a $500 bond, the Associated Press reported. The police report obtained by The Smoking Gun notes that Boedecker was wearing "flip-flops" at the time of his arrest.
