1.) A Lam Shin of South Korea waits to hear the outcome of an appeal to overturn the judges’ ruling over the issue of a delayed clock that caused her to lose during the London 2012 Olympic Games’ Women’s Epee Individual Fencing Semifinals, July 30, 2012. Germany’s Britta Heidemann scored the final point with one second left on the clock to win against Shin, whose appeal to the technical director was rejected. Shin claimed that a timekeeping mishap allowed her opponent extra time to strike and refused to leave the piste for 75 minutes following the match.
