Kristen Stewart apologizes for cheating on Robert Pattinson

People Magazine has reported that actress Kristen Stewart is apologizing for cheating on her boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson, after a fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement Wednesday.

The public mea culpa comes one day after allegations that Stewart cheated on her boyfriend of three years with Sanders, a 41-year-old married British director and father of two young children, Buzzfeed reported.

US Weekly reported that on July 17, the 22-year-old Stewart was caught by photographers "in a series of steamy rendezvous"  with Sanders in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Stewart is not the only one expressing regret over the infidelity.

Sanders also released a statement, telling People, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family."

He added, "my beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Yesterday, his wife, actress-model Liberty Ross allegedly tweeted "sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together," before deleting her Twitter account, according to People.
