For our Geo Quiz, we're going to take a walk to the beach.
Our starting point is Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The beach area we're looking for is on the outskirts of the city.
Once you get close, you'll probably spot surfers trying to balance on the Atlantic waves that roll in. These beaches were featured in the 1960"²s film "The Endless Summer."
And if you need directions to walk from the center of Dakar, it may help to Google it. Google has just rolled out a new mapping feature. Walking directions will be available in 44 African countries.
Here's one last clue: this place is the westernmost point in all of Africa.
You've probably used Google to search for a city on a map or to map out a vacation trip. Or — tsk tsk — even to get help answering our Geo Quiz.
The answer is Pointe des Almadies on the outskirts of Dakar.
We turned to Marieme Jamme, an African blogger who writes about technology, and a walker to hear more about the new Google walking directions feature.
